AIDS: A new challenge everyday
AIDS and HIV pose a new challenge to the world everyday. With the growing number of infected people all across the world and no adequate treatment or medication available for the masses, AIDS today poses to be the greatest challenge of out times. The limited antiretroviral treatments available are mostly out of reach for the common man who is left with the option of prevention but no cure. AIDS is a challenge to the field of biotechnology. A call that a breakthrough is desperately required.
Micro research and macro research need to be collated. Resources and information need to be shared. Countries and nations need to forget their differences and come together. A growing concern in addition is the increasing feminization of AIDS. In addition to the daily increase in AIDS infected patients, a new cause of concern is that more and more women are getting infected by AIDS.
Facts and figures show that three times as many women are infected with the AIDS virus than men. There is no extra support for women. In the absence medical treatment for them we can at least make an effort to support them socially and psychologically.

iPod Hearing Loss Protection for Boomers: Five HearPod Solutions
Since their debut in the marketplace, iPods have revolutionized the way we listen to music. iPod hard drives store up to 300 hours of music, batteries last for 12 hours, and the volume can be cranked up to 120 decibels. That's louder than a chain saw or pneumatic drill, and equivalent to a jet plane taking off! But iPod fans are being warned to turn their music down. Even manufacturer, Apple, includes a cautionary note with every iPod, warning, "permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones or headphones are used at high volume."
Currently, 16 million baby boomers have hearing loss and the number is expected to surge to 78 million by 2030. Amazingly, nearly three-quarters of them admit that they have never visited a doctor or hearing health specialist to have a hearing test.
In spite of this lack of concern, there are more boomers aged 46 to 64 with hearing loss than seniors over the age of 65 with the same condition, and hearing loss among baby boomers is 26...

When to Use Walking Aids
There are many factors that contribute to the possession and use of walking aids. Several factors may be due to leg injuries and bone dislocations that resulted from accidents, sports-related injuries and even those as simple as sprains. Some people also possess and use walking aids due to acquiring diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, which primarily affect the bones. These factors became apparent when the Center for Rehabilitation and Rheumatology at Amsterdam, The Netherlands spearheaded the conduct of a medical investigation on the possession and use of walking aids among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or osteoarthritis (OA).
The medical investigation was also conducted in order to identify factors contributing to possession and actual use of the walking aids. Method of investigation...
